Cambridge Monthly Meet – June 2025
It all begins with an idea.
This month’s meet kicked off at 1pm outside Orléne’s Kitchen Café, with the usual relaxed catch-up to ease into the day. As always, it’s the people who make these gatherings memorable — and this time, we gained an unexpected new friend: Ralph, a visiting German photographer who just happened to be holding a camera nearby. Naturally, I dragged him in.
Communication was… interesting at first. I tried the classic British approach of speaking louder and slower, which didn’t get us very far. Luckily, Bella — who continues to be such a vital and brilliant part of Social Photography — turned up, fluent in German and instantly saved the day. From that point on, everything just clicked.
We set off on a casual photowalk down Mill Road, capturing some great street photography opportunities along the way. The route ended at a stunning, quiet cemetery that Bella introduced us to — a hidden gem I’d never seen before. The atmosphere, light, and textures there were incredible. I can already see so much potential for future model shoots at this spot. Huge thanks to Bella again for the discovery.
Another fantastic day with good people, unexpected moments, and new ideas. That’s what Social Photography is all about.
